I used local strawberries. (Frozen ones of course because it is March in Alberta.) But because I only had frozen strawberries I didn’t do the magical hidden pile of strawberries under my buttercream. Just straight up cupcake and buttercream.
Local homegrown strawberries make a homemade cupcake that much more amazing. But not that these cupcakes needed to be made much more amazing. They kind of do that all on their own. Anyway. This is what mine turned out like. Give them a try. You will be very happy you did.
